You may upload distribution forms to the Secure File Upload tab using the HowardSimon Retirement Plan Sponsor Portal.
Some clients have asked "Why use the portal to upload documents instead of email?"
We strongly suggest using the Secure File Upload tab to send us any documents containing sensitive information as opposed to using email.
This is because if your email account is ever hacked or breached, any forms sent from your email account will be visible to the hacker in your Sent folder. In addition, although Howard Simon uses industry best practices for cyber-safety, it is possible for corporate email accounts to be compromised as well.
By using the Secure File Upload feature, you are sending a document to us directly from your device, and this will leave no records a hacker could easily access. We also recommend deleting the scanned or photographed document from your device after uploading.
Follow these screens as shown here to find the Secure File Upload tab:
1) After entering your Howard Simon username and password, select Retirement Plan Sponsor from the lefthand side.
PLEASE NOTE:
The File Exchange tab does not send documents to the Retirement Department.
Please do not upload your loan or distribution forms here as the website does not notify us for File Exchange uploads. Doing so will delay processing.
2) When the Plan Name is selected, the website will take you to your Plan Summary or Dashboard.
The Secure File Upload tab is located within the Navy-blue banner towards the right.
3) The Data File side of the Secure File Upload page can be utilized for loans or distribution forms.
Select your file and hit Upload to send the document to us.
Your account manager will be notified of the upload immediately.
If you want to confirm the receipt or check the status of a request, you may send emails to retire@hsimon.com to communicate with us!
